FSCONS free ticket

Oh yes, there was a free ticket hidden somewhere on the FSCONS pages. Nobody found it. I am not saying it was easy. Look at this picture:

fscons_logo.png

The ticket have been hidden in the picture all the time. Right in front of your eyes. All the time.Ok, lets first go through how we did to hide the data:

cat > enc.txt << EOF
The first person to send an email (to board@fscons.org) about
this hidden message gets free entrance to FSCONS 2007 …..
EOF

Oh, yes. We are using a piece of software called: stepic. And to get the secret message out of the picture:

curl http://www.fscons.org/files/fscons_logo.png -o fscons_logo.png
stepic -d -i fscons_logo.png

… which gives:

The first person to send an email (to board@fscons.org) about
this hidden message gets free entrance to FSCONS 2007 …..

All hints on how to hide a ticket for next year’s FSCONS is welcome :)

FSCONS aftermath

After having planned FSCONS for a couple of months we were finally there last weekend. Strange feeling when all the guests registered… kind of, “what have we done?”, “what are they all doing here?”, “is it already 7 December?”.

A big thanks to all the speakers, sponsors, guests and staff. I had a great time. Hope you had.

Anyway, the conference was great. And we’ve started to prepare for next year :)
